Community & Advocacy

My advocacy is rooted in the belief that technology should be an act of care. I lead and facilitate several text-centric communities designed to reduce cognitive load and provide humane alternatives to traditional social media.

Multiple Disabilities Peer Support

These groups, collectively known as MultAbilities, focus on the unique challenges of navigating overlapping disabilities.

MultAbilities (GroupMe)

Our primary outpost for those who prefer the simplicity of a linear text stream or SMS-based participation.

MultAbilities (Groups.io)

A structured, low-pressure environment for long-form discussion and resource archiving.

MultAbilities (Discord)

A space for real-time text interaction and community engagement.

Multiple Disabilities Peer to Peer Support Group (Facebook)

A broad hub for connection and community history. This group retains its original name to maintain its established presence following a community merger.

Educational Advocacy

Online Education for the Disabled

A group for discussing and improving accessibility within digital learning environments.

Faith-Based Support

Imago Dei Disability Fellowship

A dedicated space for Christians with any form of disability to find peer support and spiritual community.

Community Philosophy

In all these spaces, I prioritize:

  • Low Cognitive Load: Predictable systems that do not overwhelm the nervous system.
  • Accessibility First: Tools that are fully navigable via screen readers (specifically NVDA) and keyboard.
  • Energy-Based Planning: Workflows that respect limited physical and cognitive energy.
